A Mansion Wedding Venue With Every Space Yours
Northfield Estate is a white manor house on nearly 50 acres of fields, trees, and a pond in Cumberland, Virginia, one of the few mansion wedding venues in Virginia where the whole property is yours. On your wedding day you have all of it: two private getting-ready spaces, a ballroom inside the manor, upper and lower stone terraces, ceremony sites on the lawn, and a sailcloth tent for up to 200 guests.
01 Getting ready
The Bridal Suite
Two light-filled rooms with four vanity stations, a full-length mirror, soft seating for your people, and a private bath. The suite is separate from the main event spaces, so you can get ready without being seen.

The Groom's Cottage
A freestanding cottage across the lawn with a kitchenette, an island with barstools, leather couches, a TV, and a foosball table. It is fully private from the estate house.

Intimate & outdoor
Small Weddings, Micro Weddings, and Outdoor Celebrations
Not every wedding needs two hundred guests. The ballroom seats 60 for dinner and90 for a ceremony, which makes Northfield one of the few small wedding venues in Virginia with a full estate around it: a private suite to get ready in, a chandeliered room for dinner, and the grounds for photos. For an outdoor wedding, the terraces, the lawn, and the great oak hold ceremonies of any size, with the ballroom and tent as the rain plan.
02 Reception
The Estate Ballroom
Floor-to-ceiling windows, custom trim, crystal chandeliers, and the original hardwood floors. The ballroom is our year-round space: an intimate reception for 60, a ceremony for 90, the home of off-peak winter weddings, and the covered plan when it rains.

03 Reception
The Sailcloth Tent
A permanent sailcloth tent on a paved floor beside the silos, with white draping and tent lighting included April through November. Sidewalls, fans, and heaters are available through Rent-E-Quip. The tent is not available December through March.

04 Cocktail hour
The Upper and Lower Terraces
Two stone terraces step down from the manor toward the fields. They hold cocktail hour, lawn games, and ceremonies, with the guest restrooms tucked beneath on the lower level.

05 Ceremony
Ceremony Sites
Choose the terrace beneath the house, the open lawn with the fields behind you, or the shade of the great oak. For winter weddings or rain, the ballroom seats 90 for a ceremony and the tent covers larger guest lists.
