2027 weekend packages start at $13,000 for an off-peak Saturday with one night at the estate, and run to $36,000 for a full Friday-through-Sunday buyout in peak season. Every package includes exclusive use of the estate for your wedding day.

A weekend package closes the estate to every other event on those days, so the whole weekend is guaranteed to be yours. Couples who book a single wedding day can add nights closer to the date if the neighboring days are still open, but because of demand for Fridays and Sundays they usually aren't.

Weekend packages run Friday through Sunday only. Weekday (Monday through Thursday) weddings are quoted on request, depending on availability.

Peak season is May, June, September, and October. Mid season is April, July, August, and November. Off-peak is December through March, when weddings are held in the ballroom for up to 60 guests and the sailcloth tent is not available.

Northfield's included tables and chairs seat 150. Guest counts above that add $50 per person for supplemental tables and chairs, up to 200 guests outdoors.

Start with a private tour. A signed contract and a 50% deposit reserve your date, and the remaining balance is due four months before the wedding.

Northfield Estate hosts up to 200 guests in the sailcloth tent and outdoor spaces. The Estate Ballroom seats 60 for a reception and 90 for a ceremony.

Yes. Our weekend packages include nights in the estate house, so you and your closest people can stay on the property before and after the wedding. The upstairs floor of the manor, five bedrooms and five bathrooms, is being finished now and will be complete by January 2027. For additional guests, Farmville is about 20 minutes away.

We provide 150 tan Willow ceremony chairs, 150 padded King Louis reception chairs, 15 round tables (72"), 10 high-top cocktail tables, an assortment of 4', 6', and 8' rectangular tables, and one white Estate Bar (6'). Setup and breakdown of all Northfield-owned tables and chairs is included, along with the bridal suite, the groom's cottage, the ballroom, the terraces, and the sailcloth tent in season.

Your wedding day includes 12 hours of exclusive use on Fridays and Saturdays and 10 hours Sunday through Thursday. Additional hours can be arranged with your venue manager.

Due to county ordinances, all guests and vendors must depart the property no later than 10:45 pm.

Yes. Northfield Estate welcomes licensed catering partners of your choice, so you can design the menu you want. All catering arrangements are made directly with your caterer.

Yes. All couples hire a professional, licensed, and insured wedding planner offering full planning, partial planning, or event management.

With the exception of our exclusive rental company, Rent-E-Quip, you may hire any vendors you like. All vendors must be licensed and insured and provide a Certificate of Insurance 30 days before the event.

Yes. The sailcloth tent and white draping are included April through November. The tent is not available December through March. Additional tents and accessories (sidewalls, fans, heaters) can be rented through Rent-E-Quip.

Depending on your guest count, the ballroom and the sailcloth tent both work as covered spaces for the ceremony, the reception, or both.

The interior of the house is not wheelchair accessible. All outdoor event spaces are ADA compliant, and two of the guest restrooms are accessible.

Yes. There are 8 guest restrooms, including 2 accessible restrooms, on the lower terrace.

Yes. The gravel lot holds 80+ vehicles, with accessible drop-off. Events over 150 guests require hired transportation.

Yes. All couples carry day-of event liability insurance and provide Northfield with a copy 60 days before the wedding.

The estate is in Cumberland, Virginia, about 1 hour west of Richmond and about 1 hour southeast of Charlottesville. Farmville is about 20 minutes away, Powhatan about 30 minutes, and Lynchburg about 1 hour 15 minutes. Washington, DC and Virginia Beach are each about two and a half to three hours, which is why many couples from those areas book a weekend package.
