A Virginia Wedding Venue on a Private Countryside Estate

full of Southern charm

01 The Estate

An Estate Wedding Venue in Cumberland, Virginia

Of all the wedding venues in Virginia, few are a private estate you can have to yourselves for the weekend. Northfield Estate is a European-inspired mansion on nearly 50 acres in Cumberland, Virginia, about an hour from both Richmond and Charlottesville and twenty minutes from Farmville. The white manor house has soaring ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and original hardwood floors, and it sits above rolling fields, a pond, and old shade trees.

We host one wedding at a time. Your day includes the bridal suite, the groom's cottage, the estate ballroom, two terraces, and a sailcloth tent for up to 200 guests. With our weekend packages, you and your closest people stay in the manor house too. Couples travel here from Richmond, Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Northern Virginia, DC, and Hampton Roads.

Be One of the First to Marry Here

a new chapter

After a few quiet years, Northfield Estate is reopening for weddings. The ballroom and the exterior have been restored, and the upstairs of the manor is becoming five bedrooms for the couple and their families.

Only a handful of couples have celebrated here so far, so your photos won't look like everyone else's from the same venue. The 2027 calendar is just opening, and the first couples get their pick of the best weekends.
